Located in San Francisco, Dickinson Bransford provides strategic and financial solutions to support companies’ growth goals, address challenges and/or enable the shareholders’ personal financial goals of maximizing the company’s value and getting some liquidity – either now or in the future. Mostly, that means capital, business sales, mergers & acquisitions, buyouts (management, next generation, private equity) and consulting to build future value.
His background melds financial advisory and consulting to small and mid-sized companies with large company operating experience.
Previously, Mr. Bransford was one of five owners of ABI Business Sales, Mergers & Acquisitions, advising companies in several industries, but focusing on healthcare and technology-driven markets such as medical devices, clinical research information technology and computer/electronics.
His corporate operating experience includes product management, strategy, marketing and operations, both inside organizations and as an outside advisor. He held various management positions, such as: Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Assistant Vice President of Membership Marketing (financial services and insurance industry), Product Manager (consumer packaged goods); and interim management of a small business he acquired (healthcare).
As a consultant, he worked on a team charged with integrating three factories, a family brand and multiple sub-brands into an acquirer’s operation, helped a seller prepare the company for sale, launched a start-up, and helped a client turn around an unprofitable division.
He holds the Certified Merger & Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA) credential through the Alliance of Merger & Acquisition Advisors (AMAA), is a long term member of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), and earned the Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) designation from the International Business Brokers Association in 2005.
Mr. Bransford serves on the Board of Directors of a U.S. Department of Energy-developed technology licensee, a company whose purpose is to further refine and apply that technology in international markets.
He holds a B.S. from the University of Texas, Austin, and an M.B.A. in International Business from California State University, College of Business and Economics (Honors), taught in the U.S., Thailand, Vietnam & Austria. Additionally, he has undertaken post-graduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley and completed an Executive Education program in corporate strategy at Harvard Business School.
