Cheryl Solometo has more than 20 years of financing and advisory experience at major international banks and top-tier credit rating agencies.  She speaks the language of debt and equity financing sources and understands their requirements, issues and concerns.  As a seasoned credit and risk management professional working with troubled as well as healthy companies, she brings credibility to Issuers seeking debt or equity and manages the process from identification of the appropriate financing source(s) through presentation, approval, due diligence, closing and ongoing compliance with lender/investor requirements.

Ms. Solometo’s experience includes an array of industries as well as companies across the full panoply of their corporate histories from early stage through mature and from project finance at the corporate level to the project level. Her diverse industry expertise includes Energy: thermal, solar, wind, hydropower, geothermal, waste energy, and oil and gas; Infrastructure: transportation and healthcare; and Real Estate: commercial office buildings and hotels.

She has been a lead lender in significant power project financings and provided credit ratings and ratings guidance to major investor-owned utilities and energy companies during the transformation to deregulated energy markets and the disruption of the traditional financing model.

Ms. Solometo began her banking career at Sumitomo Bank providing real estate advisory services to high net worth investors and underwriting project financings, eventually serving as Head of the Project Finance Americas Group at Crédit Agricole.  At WestLB she was Head of the Transaction Management Group that managed a multi-billion dollar portfolio of energy, telecom, infrastructure, transportation, metals and mining and export finance transactions throughout the Americas.  She led the Dexia Project Finance Credit Team before being promoted to Head of the Dexia Credit Risk Management Group.

Ms. Solometo received an MBA in finance from the University of Maryland at College Park, an MA in public administration and public policy from Binghamton University and a BA in political science from Harpur College at Binghamton University.  She also completed her doctoral studies in political science at Vanderbilt University.
